  1. Signing up to be a registered member or advertiser on SI-Directory, gives us consent to store any personal or business data you enter into our website, your membership profile, payment gateway and email service provider.
  2. Signing up to be a registered member or advertiser on SI-Directory you are giving us consent to contact you through email, telephone, text message, social media or postal mail regarding your membership profile or the services we offer.
  3. Completing an enquiry form to contact one of our listed members, you are consenting for us to store the data you enter into that form and for us to send it to suitable registered members.
  4. Subscribing to our email newsletter you are consenting for us to store your data and use tracking facilities within the actual email for analytical purposes.
  5. Accepting our cookie policy upon your first visit to SI-Directory, you are consenting for us to store your browser information and permitting tracking via Google Analytics.

1. What data we collect from you?

Users contacting SI-Directory  and/or its owners do so at their own discretion and provide any such personal details requested at their own risk. Your personal information is kept private and stored securely until a time it is no longer required or has no use, as detailed in the Data Protection Act 1998.

Your data is collected to provide you with an efficient directory service, whether visiting to source information, request contact from one of our registered member’s  or a subscribing member requiring effective promotion of your listing, event or advert with appropriate communication between us and you.  

We will not sell, rent or supply your data to any third party companies, nor does our third party software providers.  

We collect the following data from you:

a)   When given your consent by your acceptance of our cookie policy that will pop up on your first visit to SI-Directory, we will collect information from your browser. This information includes your IP address, your browser type and language, access times, what you have viewed, content of any undeleted cookies that your browser previously accepted from us (see "Cookie Use" below), and the referring website address. b)   In addition we collect any personal or business data you enter into SI-Direcory.com via the following means:

• An enquiry form to contact one of our listed members.

• Members profile page forms which may be a personal profile of you or a business owned by you.

• Your payment information retained from any purchases made on SI-Directory such as subscriptions or advertising. 

• Subscription to our email newsletter but only if this was made clear to you and your permission was  granted.

• An enquiry form to purchasing any advertising services.

c)   We may also collect and store personal information about other people that you provide to us. If you use SI-Directory to send others (friends, relatives, colleagues, etc.) information that may interest them through our system, we may store your personal information, and the personal information of each such recipient.

d)   We may also periodically obtain both personal and non-personal information about you from other business partners, contractors and other third parties. Examples of information that we may receive include (but are not limited to): updated delivery and address information, purchase history, and additional demographic information.

e)  We may share aggregated and non-personal information we collect under any of the above circumstances. We may also share it with third parties to develop and deliver targeted advertising on our websites and on websites of third parties. We may combine non-personal information we collect with additional non-personal information collected from other sources. We also may share aggregated information with third parties, including advisors, advertisers and investors, for the purpose of conducting general business analysis. 2. With whom do we share your data?

b) Authorised Service Providers that perform certain services on our behalf. Services may include; processing credit/debit card payments, marketing assistance, performing business and sales analysis, supporting website functionality, surveys and other features offered through our website. These service providers may have access to personal information needed to perform their functions but are not permitted to share or use such information for any other purposes.

c) Business partners. When you make purchases, reservations or engage in promotions offered through our website or our services, we may share personal information with the businesses with which we partner to offer you those products, services or promotions. When you elect to engage in a particular merchant's offer or program, you authorise us to provide your email address and other information to that merchant.

d) When using our Find a Practitioner Service, we match your information and service request against our list of registered members. When you submit a match request through our website, you consent to our providing your personal information and request to the registered members we match with your request. Sharing this information with registered members allows them to contact you using the e-mail address or other contact information you provided. We may also release information to collection and/or credit agencies for past due Professional accounts.

e) Lawful investigation / demand.

In response to a subpoena or similar investigative demand, a court order, or a request for cooperation from law enforcement or other government agency; to establish or exercise our legal rights; to defend against legal claims; or as otherwise required by law. In such cases, we may raise or waive any legal objection or right available to us.

4. Emails

By signing up as a member of SI-Directory you are agreeing to communication between us regarding our service to you.

SI-Directory operates a newsletter, used to inform subscribers about products, services and events through SI-Directory. Some subscriptions may be manually processed through prior written agreement with the user.

Subscriptions are taken in compliance with UK Spam Laws detailed in the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003. All personal details relating to subscriptions are held securely and in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998. No personal details are passed on to third parties or shared with companies / people outside of the company that operates SI-Directory. Under the Data Protection Act 1998 you may request a copy of personal information held about you by SI-Directory's email newsletter program.  If you would like a copy of the information held please email us at angela@si-directory.com

Email marketing campaigns published by SI-Directory or its owners may contain tracking facilities within the actual email. Subscriber activity is tracked and stored in a database for future analysis and evaluation. Such tracked activity may include; the opening of emails, forwarding of emails, the clicking of links within the email content, times, dates and frequency of activity [this is by no far a comprehensive list].

This information is used to refine future email campaigns and supply the user with more relevant content based around their activity.

In compliance with UK Spam Laws and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003 subscribers are given the opportunity to un-subscribe at any time through an automated system. This process is detailed at the footer of each email campaign. If an automated un-subscription system is unavailable clear instructions on how to un-subscribe will by detailed instead. Every effort has been made to ensure a safe and secure form to email submission process but advise users using such form to email processes that they do so at their own risk.

We will not sell, rent or supply your data to any third party companies.

5. How we securely store your data

The software platform used for SI-Directory is provided by Brilliant Directories (BD) from the USA.  All data is stored securely in an IBM Data Centre in Dallas, TX. You can read more about IBM’s Cloud Security here.   If there was to be a data breach, SI-Directory would be notified. The provider would identify where the vulnerability was and repair it as quickly as possible and attempt to prevent that type of breach again.

6. Data transfer to secure storage

In addition to your data being stored securely SI-Directory also owns a Secure Site Certificate which means that whilst in transit to storage or the payment gateway your data is encrypted and secure.  

As part of the EU GDPR Regulations there is an agreement called The EU-U.S. and Swiss-U.S. Privacy Shield Frameworks which have been designed by the U.S. Department of Commerce, and the European Commission and Swiss Administration, respectively, to provide companies on both sides of the Atlantic with a mechanism to comply with data protection requirements when transferring personal data from the European Union and Switzerland to the United States in support of transatlantic commerce.  IBM whom ultimately store SI-Directory data are an active participant in the Privacy Shield Framework

7. Cookie Use & Google Analytics

SI-Directory uses cookies to better user experience while visiting the website. Where applicable SI-Directory uses a cookie control system allowing the user on their first visit to allow or disallow the use of cookies on their computer / device. This complies with recent legislation requirements for websites to obtain explicit consent from users before leaving behind or reading files such as cookies on a user's computer / device.

What is a Cookie?

Cookies are small files saved to the user's computer’s hard drive that track, save and store information about the user's interactions and usage of the website. This allows the website, through its server to provide the users with a tailored experience within SI-Directory.

SI-Directory uses Google Analytics tracking software through cookies to monitor its visitors to better understand how they use it. The software will save a cookie to your computer’s hard drive in order to track and monitor your engagement and usage of the website, but will not store, save or collect personal information. Other cookies may be stored to your computer’s hard drive by external vendors when SI-Directory uses referral programs, sponsored links or adverts. Such cookies are used for conversion and referral tracking and typically expire after 30 days, though some may take longer. No personal information is stored, saved or collected.

We may use standard Internet technology, such as web beacons and other similar technologies, to track your use of our site. We also may include web beacons in promotional [or other] e-mail messages or newsletters to determine whether messages have been opened and acted upon. SI-Directory may contain sponsored links and adverts. These will typically be served through our advertising partners, to whom may have detailed privacy policies relating directly to the adverts they serve.

Clicking on any such adverts will send you to the advertiser’s website through a referral program which may use cookies and will track the number of referrals sent from SI-Directory. This may include the use of cookies which may in turn be saved on your computer’s hard drive. Users should therefore note they click on sponsored external links at their own risk and SI-Directory and its owners cannot be held liable for any damages or implications caused by visiting any external links mentioned.

11. Social Media Platforms

Communication, engagement and actions taken through external social media platforms that SI-Directory and its owners participate on are custom to the terms and conditions as well as the privacy policies held with each social media platform respectively.

Users are advised to use social media platforms wisely and communicate / engage upon them with due care and caution in regard to their own privacy and personal details. SI-Directory nor its owners will never ask for personal or sensitive information through social media platforms and encourage users wishing to discuss sensitive details to contact them through primary communication channels such as by telephone or email.

SI-Directory may use social sharing buttons which help share web content directly from web pages to the social media platform in question. Users are advised before using such social sharing buttons that they do so at their own discretion and note that the social media platform may track and save your request to share a web page respectively through your social media platform account.

Shortened Links in Social Media

SI-Directory and its owners through their social media platform accounts may share web links to relevant web pages. By default some social media platforms shorten lengthy urls [web addresses].

Users are advised to take caution and good judgement before clicking any shortened urls published on social media platforms by SI-Directory and its owners. Despite the best efforts to ensure only genuine urls are published many social media platforms are prone to spam and hacking and therefore SI-Directory and its owners cannot be held liable for any damages or implications caused by visiting any shortened links.

12. Blogs, bulletin boards, reviews and chat rooms

We may provide areas on our websites where you can post information about yourself and others and communicate with others, as well as post reviews of products, establishments, contractors, and the like, or upload content (e.g. pictures, videos, audio files, etc.). Such postings are governed by our Terms & Conditions.  In addition, such postings may appear on other websites or when searches are executed on the subject of your posting. Also, whenever you voluntarily disclose personal information on publicly-viewable web pages, that information will be publicly available and can be collected and used by others. For example, if you post your email address, you may receive unsolicited messages. We cannot control who reads your posting or what other users may do with the information you voluntarily post, so we encourage you to exercise discretion and caution with respect to your personal information. Once you have posted information, you may not be able to edit or delete such information.

13.Your rights and access to your data

Right of Access

As an active member of SI-Directory you have the right to access, update, request a copy or completely erase your personal data at anytime by logging into your account. You can also review and update your personal information by contacting us at angela@si-directory.com.

Right to cancel membership or be forgotten

You can choose to have your account disabled by contacting angela@SI-Directory. After you deactivate your account, you will not be able to sign in to our website or access any of your personal information. However, you can open a new account at any time. If you deactivate your account, we may still retain certain information associated with your account for analytical purposes and record keeping integrity, as well as to prevent fraud, collect any fees owed, enforce our terms and conditions, take actions we deem necessary to protect the integrity of our web site or our users, or take other actions otherwise permitted by law. In addition, if certain information has already been provided to third parties as described in this Privacy Policy, retention of that information will be subject to those third parties' policies.

If you membership has ceased, you may ask by email to angela@si-directory.com to view any data we have of you, request it to be updated, request a copy or be completely erased.

Right to be Informed

If we have added your data to the Directory as a Pioneer of Structural Integration or Fascia Research we will have contacted you to seek your permission via email or social media. You have the right at any time to ask your data to be removed and deleted.

Your choices about collection and use of your data

You can choose not to provide us with certain information, but that may result in you being unable to use certain features of our website because such information may be required in order for you to register as a member of our directory service; to use our services; purchase products or services; participate in a contest, promotion, survey, ask a question; or initiate other transactions on our website.

At any time a consumer user can choose to no longer receive commercial or promotional emails or newsletters from us by accessing your user account and opting out. You also will be given the opportunity, in any commercial e-mail that we send to you, to opt out of receiving such messages in the future. It may take up to 10 days for us to process an opt-out request.
