 AT2.18 Advanced Training

Three modules.

Take advantage of a unique opportunity to fulfill your Master Agreement and become Advanced Certified with TWO Advanced Faculty Members, Sally Klemm and Pedro Prado. Together, Pedro and Sally offer a training that supports a variety of learning styles, while integrating structural, functional and psychobiological perspectives. Students will gain a more in-depth understanding of how to work at that interface of psyche and soma that is inherent in Rolfing structural integration.

This certification is offered in three, user-friendly modules at the Rolf Institute in Beautiful Boulder Colorado. Each module will take up only a single work week and adjacent weekends (Fall 2018, Spring & Summer 2019).

When Ida Rolf was teaching, she warned her students that after basic training, it would take them about 5 years of diligent practice to truly understand the work. More than a reflection of her provocative style, her admonition underscores the reality that professional practice not only brings mastery of a craft, but also deepens our comprehension of the work’s essence. Through practice, the work not only teaches us, but also reveals itself.

The Advanced Training is one more step in the Rolfer’s professional development. It allows participants to deepen their understanding by enhancing their current knowledge and experience with a more nuanced, non-formulaic vision of the work, integrating the structural, functional and psychobiological perspectives within a context of articular specificity and great precision.

Pedro Prado, PhD, of Sao Paulo, Brazil, has been instructing Rolfing SI for over 20 years. He is a member of the Advanced and Movement Faculties of the Rolf Institute, as well as an Advanced S.E. Instructor for the Somatic Experiencing Trauma Institute (SETI). He is a clinical psychologist and a former professor of Somatic Psychology.

His signature approach to the work, to which he has devoted his clinical practice and research, explores the bridges among the Structural, Functional and Psychobiological perspectives. Since having become a Rolfer in 1981, Pedro has introduced Rolfing and nurtured practitioner communities in his native Brazil and elsewhere in the world. He has taught throughout the US, Latin America, Europe, Japan, South Africa and Australia.

A member of the Advanced Faculty of the Rolf Institute® of Structural Integration, Sally Klemm has taught certification trainings in Rolfing® Structural Integration and cranial sacral work internationally. In 1985 Sally began her Rolfing training with Jan Sultan and cranial sacral training with Jim Asher. She joined the Rolfing faculty in 1995.

Sally’s ability to blend an organized cognitive style with intuitive understanding reflects her fascination with the interface of psyche and soma and how that informs our direct experience. Her teaching style creates a relaxed atmosphere that supports a variety of learning styles.
